Cape Coral Softball Fastpitch
Uniform Rules & RequirementsAll uniform requirements will be set forth by USA Softball's current official rule except any noted Local League Rules below. Per USA Softball "All Players on a team shall properly wear uniforms that are like in color and style."
All players MUST wear the Cape Coral Softball league provided jersey. The only exceptions to this rule are a) if a player's jersey tears during play and must be replaced; b) a player bleeds on their jersey and must finish the game in an alternate top due to safety regulations; c) a player's jersey has not been received from the league due to any type of ordering and shipping delay.
Players' pants may be long, short or mixed in style, as long as they are like in color. Cape Coral Softball allows the following colors of softball pants to be worn along with league provided jerseys: white, black, grey, and any color EXACTLY matching the league provided jerseys. Side inserts such as white stripes are permitted as long as the majority of the pant matches the entire team.
As a recreational softball program all coaches and volunteers must understand that not every family can afford or will choose to afford an additional pair of softball pants. If a team chooses to purchase additional different colored pants, and a player/family is unable or unwilling to afford the new pants, it is the responsibility of the coaching staff to purchase the new pants for those players to meet the requirement of same colored pants. Coaches cannot require the pants change nor require reimbursement from families who cannot or choose not to afford additional softball pants.
Socks will follow the same team requirements as softball pants. Teams may choose to ALL wear a different matching style of sock than what is provided by the league, as long as it is agreed to and purchased by families or coaches.
Metal spikes as defined in the USA Softball Rule Book are only allowed in the following age divisions: 14U, 16U, 18U. All other divisions must wear rubber/plastic spikes of a standard softball/baseball design and format.
